He’s a mess…

Asher Knight has three constants in his life: music, beautiful women, and a bottle of Jack. He lives for the next gig, the next city, and dreams only of a life spent in front of an arena full of screaming fans. But Asher’s nomad ways come to a sudden stop when he learns he’s the father of a three-year-old from a past relationship and suddenly this rock star bad boy is forced to put down roots.

Only she can clean up

Gloria Shields is no one’s fool. Sure, the sexual chemistry between her and Asher has always been intense, but she’d never risk giving her heart to a man who has a perfect record for breaking them. Except the man desperate to make things right with his newfound son is nothing like the rock god she’s guarded her heart against for years. And it isn’t long before she starts to wonder if life with this bad boy might be the best thing that’s ever happened to her.

I received an advanced copy of this book for free from the Publisher in exchange of an honest review. This in no way affects my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

Admittedly, I started this series out of order but due to its awesomeness I just could not see myself putting it down once I realized that. Aside from it being the last book in the series, I was still able to easily follow along but I’d still encourage persons to read the others first if that would make things easier.

My initial thoughts after starting Return of the Bad Boy was holy shit! Jessica Lemmon can write and this is just my kind of hot contemporary romance! Engaging storytelling, captivating and great characters and a smoking hot romance that left me sweating.

Our lead male, Asher is back in his hometown and he’s got plans. Plans on being a good dad for his kid, plans on writing for the band’s new album and plans for a certain fiery-tempered publicist. If only Glo or “Sarge” as he fondly calls her due to her bossy ways, would just go along with those plans.

But alas, Glo is not so easily swayed and she’s got her own issues and past to deal with. Just because Asher’s kisses leave her mindless as well as breathless doesn’t mean that he’s ready to commit. Plus there’s the fact that he also knows how to get under her skin, which is just something she cannot allow. Neither him or his little dog will get to her.

There’s a lot of baggage between the two of them. Years of here and there trysts and flings that may have assisted in feelings being developed by one party more so than the other. The angst in this book was good. Very good. If we thought Donovan was closed off then he ain’t got nothing on Gloria.

Together these two are on fire and their chemistry is off the charts, no one within their group and outside can deny that. It’s palpable and off the charts. Let’s not even get me started on the sexy times. Can anyone say breakfast in bed served by a downright sinful rocker? Two words; maple syrup.

I definitely cannot wait for what Lemmon brings next. Her writing has added her to my list of auto buy authors after reading this book then starting from the beginning. She’s consistent and skilled and is able to bring her characters to life, which I love.
