Nobody But You by Jill ShalvisAbout NOBODY BUT YOU
When Jacob was injured in the war, it changed him for life. Now all he wants to do is come home to Cedar Ridge, settle in at his lakeside cabin and get some much-needed peace and quiet. But there’s no peace to be had when he finds a spitfire of a woman camping out on his property. Half the time he’s not sure whether he wants to spank her or kiss–or maybe both. He’s in a dark place and a dark mood, and here’s this wildly hot woman who is also funny and light and may be the balm be needs to soothe his aching soul.

Sophie Marren is pretty much penniless after leaving her abusive husband. She doesn’t have the money to pay rent or the slip fees for docking the boat where she’s been sleeping. She was getting along just perfectly until the good-looking, brooding, I’m-too-sexy-for-myself guy moves into the lake cabin that the slip belongs to. Sure he’s hot as the noon sun with those dark lens and even darker ‘tude, but god forbid she tie herself to another man who’s always telling her what to do. But the more she gets to know Jacob, the more she sees how willing he is to battle for her wounded heart…a battle she might just let him win.

I received an advanced copy of this book for free from the Publisher in exchange of an honest review. This in no way affects my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

In this the 3rd installment of the Cedar Ridge series, we finally get to read about the Jacob. The missing twin of Bud and sibling to the other Kincaid clan.

I have to say that Jill Shalvis has had me intrigued from the very first book and the very first mention of the MIA brother. I was anxiously awaiting this one for essentially almost a year. Nine months. Close enough.

Anyway, Jacob is back home in Cedar Ridge after many years and a couple stints in the military. After a mission gone wrong and the loss of his friend, he felt the need to come back home where he hopes to make amends and unite with his family. He hopes – without saying too much because he’s this big, tough guy who broods way too much – that his family will accept him and Things will be right again.

Upon returning to town he stumbles upon a squatter using his dock to moor her boat, not park as he so gruffly pointed out, and is amused by how unprepared for his unwelcomed guest he is.

Sophie hasn’t had it easy. She gave up everything to marry a guy she thought was her happily ever after, but turns out he was into multiple happy ever afters. Which leaves her crushed, divorced and penniless. The only thing she requested and got was he ex’s precious boat.

She, too, is wholly unprepared for all that is Jacob Kincaid and continues to be her spastic, awkward self. Plus, living on a boat when you’re perpetually seasick is no picnic, guys. But I had to say she handled it all with aplomb.

The chemistry between these two was immediate and undeniable. I love how Shalvis really brings the humor and the smoldering and the swoon in this one. I also was so happy for the crazy-fun KinCaid family reunion. Especially the reunion with Jacob and Bud which started off promising but didn’t end so very well as there was a lot that needed to be said due to all the self-blame and guilt.

I absolutely adored Nobody But You. The writing was funny and witty and snarky, which I love. And let’s not forget sexy! Jill has outdone herself!

I’m looking forward to reading this one especially since we finally get to meet the elusive Jacob! I love how Jill can really write chemistry and these two sound like they have it in spades.
