This is the first book in The Maddox Brothers Series. It takes place around the same time as the Beautiful Disaster series, except that it focuses on Trent Maddox, Travis’ brother. Trent has a reputation just like his brother; known to screw around and cause trouble. Cami only has time for work and school and possibly her boyfriend, if only he actually made time to see her. Since Cami’s boyfriend lives in another state, Cami and Trent begin to spend a lot, and I do mean A LOT, of time together. Trent doesn’t try to hide his growing feelings from her, but Cami fights them with everything she has.

This book was a real disappointment to me. First off, there was what I’m assuming to be a big reveal at the end of the book, but since I had the big secret figured out about half way through, it did nothing but flop for me. Second, who drops that kind of information and then ends the book there? I mean really? There were so many areas of the book where the author could have expanded and given lots more information.

I did really like Trent’s character though. He was the only reason I continued reading. I didn’t like Cami at all. She was letting her boyfriend, whom she never spent any time with, tell her when she could reveal this ‘big secret.’ She was kind of a pushover in my opinion.

Not really sure if I’ll read the next book based on how I felt about this one.
