I have to say that this was a very, very quick read. I didn’t realize going into it that it was part of an e-serial being written by one of my very well-liked authors in the erotic romance genre, Megan Hart.
At the end of it all I will admit that I was a bit peeved by this revelation that this story will not be completed in one go but sliced up into five very tiny slices. And by peeved I actually meant pissed.
See, I have issues with e-serials… they hardly ever work for me. They are also heavily priced and I feel like for $1.99 I better be getting more than 45 goddamn pages. But then I added all 5 ebooks up and was given the grand total of a regular priced full length novel. Sort of. Kind of. But again, I pushed this all aside because Megan Hart, y’all. Also, the story is deliciously good.
Anyhow, moving on to the actual story and I have to say that I’m intrigued by how Hart has this whole story set up. This first section deals with the temptation part of the new-not-quite-there-relationship.
Simone Kahan works on the floor above Elliott Anderson and ever so often he will bring a woman back to his office where they will have sex. Essentially Simone is a voyeur. She likes to watch, but in particular she likes to watch Elliott, and has been for months.
So one night when one of his dates doesn’t go as planned as he gets a bit… rough. While the woman he’s with does not appreciate that sort of play, Simone just perks right up. It might just be time for her to make herself known to him. And boy, does she ever. Their initial meeting at the elevator that same night leaves a definite impression on Elliott, which is surprising because Simone is so not his type.
But she does show that she’s into the same thing he is, even if she does scare him a little. She’s so unlike what he’s used to and he seems to be a little startled at the fact that there’s this woman who is potentially open to receiving whatever it is he has to dish out. I guess it’s been awhile for the poor guy.
Again, this is just a taste. I got to then ending of Tempts Me and was left wanting more. While that “more” is certainly going to cost you, remember that $1.99 a pop?, yeah. It’s piqued my interest. Plus it’s written very well and the writing is just superb, but I couldn’t expect much else when it’s coming from Megan Hart, can I? Her writing is vivid and paints a very clear picture of what’s going on, and you also get to feel what the characters are feeling. It’s raw, full of emotion, and captivating. And if you like your stories on the adult side, this is as adult as it gets.
