2012 Half Year in Review: Lisa’s Picks

Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo
Shadow & Bone by Leigh Bardugo
I have to say that the fact that the story is set in tsar-ist russia really caught my attention before I even got my hands on the book. After I did get a hold of a copy, it was all over for me. I was sucked in from the very beginning, it just had this dark and eerie and mysterious feel to it that I couldn’t help loving.

My Life Next Door by Huntley Fitzpatrick My Life next Door by Huntley Fitzpatrick

This book was on my ‘highly-anticipated’ shelf on goodreads since 2011. When they I finally got my hands on an ARC it was like a dream come true almost. This book is, so far, hands down my favorite YA contemporaries for 2012.

It was refreshing and sweet and so swoon worthy that I now need my own personal Jase Garrett in my life. And for a family like the Garrett’s to move-in next door to me.
